RICHFORD – Arlene G. Martel, age 94, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2016 at Our Lady of the Meadows in Richford.
She was born in Richford on Oct. 1, 1922 the daughter of the late, Harvey and Elizabeth (Lahue) Bashaw.
She was a 1941 graduate of Richford High School and subsequently married Albert ‘Pit’ Martel on June 27, 1945 and made their home in Richford where they raised their family.
She is survived by her sons and their wives, Christopher and Susan Martel of Richford, and Gregory and Dorothy Martel of Apex, N.C.; 10 Grandchildren, 11 Great grandchildren; and two step grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stevens and Candice Corey. Besides her parents, Arlene was predeceased by her husband Albert ‘Pit’ Martel; her sister, Marjorie Lahue; and her great grandson, Matthew James Martel Jr.
The family wishes to thank the office of Dr. Lorne Babb, the management and employee’s at Our Lady of the Meadows and Franklin County Home Health Agency for their excellent care and compassion.
In keeping with Arlene’s wishes, there will be no visiting hours or public service. A graveside service for the family will be held at their convenience.
